Elegant Beaded Jewelry by Nancy Dale- Featured Crafter at Sharon Arts Center

"Peterborough, NH: // Sharon Art Center’s Downtown Craft Galley is ablaze with the glitter and gleam of opulent cuffs and necklaces,  evening bags, earrings and more, painstakingly handcrafted in tiny seed beads, semiprecious stones, and precious metals by jewelry artist

Nancy Dale of Townshend Vermont-Sharon Arts Center’s Featured Craftsperson of the Month for October.

“With evocative names like Little Black Dress, Green Tear Drop, Purple Cubes, Copper Elegance, Blue Treasure, and Pearl Lariat,” said Gallery Director Camellia  Sousa,  “Nancy’s work harkens back almost 5,000 years to the halcyon days of the ancient Egyptians where jewelry was made in large workshops attached to temples and    palaces. Indeed, Cleopatra herself would be most luxuriously adorned in this stunning collection.”

Completely self-taught, Ms. Dale has been working with beads for  almost 20 years.  Of her work she says, “My inspiration lies in many different places and eras, from   Medieval to Victorian to Modern, from nature and from the visions presented by other artists in other media.  I am highly spiritual, but in no organized religious sense, and believe that my faith comes through in the pieces I make.  Beading,

for me, is not just what I do, but who I am.” One of Nancy’s necklaces “Dryad”, received the unique distinction of being     selected as a finalist at 2010 International Bead and Button Show. Dryad will be just one of several works on display and for sale at Sharon Arts Center’s Craft Gallery through the month of October.

Ideal for those special holiday gifts, Nancy Dale’s striking ccollection will be on view at Sharon Arts Downtown Gallery in Peterborough through October 30th."
